About Robert Bynum
"Capturing Light By Our Creator"
Landscape photographer based on the Oregon Coast. Born in Los Angeles, CA in the 60's but brought to Oregon in the 1970's when my parents escaped from LA. Grew up in the small town of Bandon, Oregon near some of the most amazing sections of coastline in the USA. Started taking pictures as a boy and my parents encouraged me. They helped me buy a Pentax SLR, and later an Olypus SLR and a Vivitar Enlarger in high school. My loving parents eventually tired of the smell of developer, stop-bath, and fixer in the house (how many remember those smells?) and my dad taught me how to build as we constructed a separate darkroom building, complete with hot and cold running water. I spent a lot of time in that darkroom learning how to dodge and burn to get those black and white prints just so. I went off to college at the U of O and later received a degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University; but always had my cameras as I raised my family. Eventually I moved back to the Oregon Coast.
I have four children and three grandchildren thus far. My lovely wife always travels with me and herself loves to seek out photo opportunities. She is often the one to say "look at how the clouds are forming.....lets go to the beach and get some shots!" I use full-frame Canon camera bodies and "L" lenses. I use Epson printers and ink at home to do signed originals for a few galleries in the area.
I love the Lord Jesus and He is my life. I would not be able to do any of this without Him and we await His return. With the beauty in nature we see now, I can only imagine what it will be like when he restores all things!
